So you’ve been thinking about going out and purchasing a new headset; the one you have is several years old and simply is not up-to-par anymore. At Home
Let’s start with you being at home – the place most people are likely to use their headsets. Ironically, this is the place that you get the most advantages of using a wireless headphone. Let’s look at a few:
Stereo System – This was the original place that you could use your headset. If you remember in the “old days” around the late 1970’s or earlier your Mom or Dad may have owned a huge stereo unit with the turntable on top and speakers on either side. Say for instance you want to wash dishes and are afraid of getting your device wet. This way you can with no worries.

How do you increase the signal on a wireless transmitter?
If you’re talking about your wireless router, you’re pretty limited. You can buy range-extending antennae but that’s about it. There’s no setting in the device that will make your broadcast any stronger. Your best bet is to position it in a central site where all your PCs and such are pretty equi-distant from the router. Eliminating other devices such as advanced cordless phones and such will also help with the transmission. Some higher frequencies can interfere with one another.
does the nikon d5000 need an infrared transmitter to fire studio lights?
i have heard another option is to buy a hotshoe adaptor and use the pc sync cables provided in the studio kit, i would prefer to be wireless. Also, if i buy the infrared transmitter, do i still need to buy the hotshoe adaptor so the transmitter will fit on camera? thanks!
depending where you are going to be placing the lights, an infrared transmitter would be preferable for Health and Safety reasons… and insurance…
