Set Yourself A Goal or Two
Published by admin | Filed under self improvement, organizing, personal
Setting yourself daily, monthly, or even yearly goals is a good idea, as it gives you something to work towards - both in your business as well as your personal life. However, it is essential to remember that goal setting should be realistic. Setting a goal to be an Olympic athlete is fine, if you are a sportsperson that trains regularly, however, if you never exercise and are not really sports-orientated, then that goal is a little unrealistic. That said, goals shouldn’t be a piece of cake, either. Goals are meant to motivate you towards something, and upon achieving them, give you a sense of fulfillment, pride in yourself, and an increased level of self-esteem. If they are too easy, and reaching them requires little or no effort, there will be very little positive effect on you, from doing so. The best goals are the ones that require a degree of determination, a little focus, and a lot of hard work. They don’t have to be about becoming rich or famous either! Cleaning out cupboards of clothes that are no longer worn to give to charity is as equally an important goal as weeding the garden or cleaning a car engine. Why not try it yourself? Make a list of realistic goals: one per day, one per month, and one per year (the one per year might be a more long term goal such as losing weight). Guaranteed, if you succeed in achieving them, you’ll feel a million percent better about yourself!
