What happens if I feed a PAL signal to an NTSC TV?
I got a new LCD TV today, and don’t know if it is NTSC only or multi-format (NTSC and PAL), as I can find nothing in the manual about this. To test if it will work with a PAL signal, I plan to hook up my PAL security camera to it. However ONLY want to do this if I know that if it does not accept a PAL signal it will NOT damage the TV. Can a PAL signal going to an NTSC-ONLY TV damage the TV? Or does it just improperly display the image?
My main concern is could it damage the TV if I feed a PAL signal to a TV that can only correctly display an NTSC signal?
A modern LCD set will likely just show “incompatible signal”.
