Finding Cheap Computers for Children

Published by admin | Filed under parenting, computers

cheap computerLet’s face it—our children do not need the most high tech computer on the market simply to write reports for school or play a few games. As parents we all try our best to make sure that our children are not playing around on the internet in chat rooms and instant messaging systems. And most of the online games are also adult oriented. So what do you really need all that fancy stuff for? Nothing!

This is why you can find cheap computers for children. Children really only need the basics. They need a working CD-ROM drive for uploading games and software. They need a floppy drive for backing up school work. They also need a high enough processor to handle current internet access, a modem, and a hard drive large enough to accommodate word processing software as well as a few games for fun. All of this pretty much equates to a Pentium III processor with 256 RAM, a 40 gig hard drive, and necessary accessories such as key board, mouse, speakers, and a CD-ROM drive. This system should not cost you more than about two hundred dollars from your local used computer store, and will be more than enough to allow your children to do their school work and play age appropriate games.
