I’m going to use the little one to measure the mice and rats then the big one for my snakes. Is this worth getting both?
Because I wanted to make sure that I’m feeding my snakes the right amount to what size they need. My ball pythons don’t like rats and I wanted to see how many mice to feed them etc by weighing them. And I wanted to be able to track my snakes growth to see how much they grow and if they are healthy for their size.
I would get the high gram scale and that way you can weigh both on there. It goes low enough to weigh mice, and high enough to weigh a large ball python. Most adults won’t be more than 3000 grams. Have you tried feeding African soft furred rats to your ball pythons? They are native to Africa and a normal food source for balls. They do have a wicked bite so if you’re feeding live (which I think is suicidal but typical for ball pythons) then figure your snake is going to have injuries at some point…this is true for most species of rat as well. Size has no idication of health. A snake can be smaller, but in good weight. You can figure out if the weight looks good to you just by observing.
