problems using a wirless flash trigger with nikon sb-600?
so i just bought the iShoot PT-04 CN II wirless flash trigger for my Nikon D40 and SB-600. The kit came with one receiver, one transmitter, and a PC Sync cord. My D40 doesnt have a PC cord socket so i cant use that. But Here is my problem. I hook up my camera and flash, i push the shutter release button and the leds on both the transmitter and the reciever flash, but my speedlight doesn’t go off. The only way i can get my flash to trigger is if i unlock it from the reveiver, which loses all TTL capabilities. any suggestions?
my problem isnt using ttl i guess. im just concerned with the fact that the only way the flash fires is if i dont lock the flash onto the receiver. it only fires if the flash lock is unlatched
You seem to have purchased some incompatible products. The D40 and SB-600 are excellent products, the iShoot is a not so hot product.
Most of us who use multiple, external flash units use the Pocket Wizard to trigger them
The iShoot PT-04 CN II does not connect electronically to the hot shoe of your camera and that is the whole problem. Of course as you will find out, flash triggers with direct connections to a cameras hot shoe will cost about five times what your PT-04 CN II
