Published by admin | Filed under environment
Popocatepetl volcano in Mexico has just erupted 6 times on Friday and Saturday, liberating a large quantity of ash and steam into the air. Places in its vicinity, as far as 40 miles from the mountain usually called “Popo”, also received a heavy downpour of ash. It is reported that so far, there are no victims or damages caused by these rare eruptions. Mount Popo has erupted sporadically since December 1994 and therefore, people near the Mount Popo has been migrating to a place further away from the 17,886-foot mountain. Those people, however, are advised to clean their cars and possessions from ash and they are also suggested to wear a protective mask so that they will not inhale the ash produced.
