After all, surveillance videos can be accepted as evidence in court. Also, parents can make sure that their nannies or babysitters aren’t goofing off – they can be apprehended and they can’t deny it because they were caught on camera.
Some nanny cams even have the feature of remote viewing – you can view the images and videos from the camera using any personal computer anywhere. This feature is especially handy for working parents who travel often. No longer does anxiety about your child have to factor in when you go on those long business trips.
Disadvantages of Using One
The main disadvantage of using a nanny camera is that it may be illegal in some areas. Also, there is always the question of whether it is acceptable to use nanny cameras on people who do not consent on being recorded. Many issues and complications can arise from this.
There is also the issue of unjust distrust of nannies and caregivers. They may resent the fact that they are being recorded and once they find out, they may want to stop caring for your child altogether. Also, they may get the wrong impression about why you are using spy cameras on them – they may think you are some sort of pervert or something. This may cause an inconvenience for you and your child.
Having weighed these advantages and disadvantages of using nanny cameras, it is still up to parents to decide whether it is worth it for them to use a nanny cam in their home. The power supply in question is made specifically for Dedicated Micros DVRs and can be ordered through various high end video security companies– I’ve seen ‘em for about $100-$200.
Your “DVR” is an extremely expensive 16 channel model that’s used for recording 16 channels of security camera feeds simultaneously. I’m curious as to what you intend to do with it and/or where you got it from. ‘Cause if your intention is to use it as a residential DVR to hook up to your cable box to record American Idol, then I’m afraid it’s not what it’s intended for.
