Does Kottler is the best marketing strategy ?

For the first time in my life, this man makes me realize that Kottler is not everything in the world. Yes indeed that he is the one who give the most details about marketing strategy, all variety is put in a book. But, how do we know from one chapter to another to connected ? Which one reffering where ? Where we must started ?

My lecturer, one of man who becomes the speaker on Smart FM on Wednesday morning, tells that when we try to implemented the Kottler theory among Indonesian market, we will definitely fail.

Lots of books using theory with American market or global market. But somehow, we need to overlook again, that Indonesian market is unique.

He said that if we wanna know about market, we have to go directly to market itself. We have to make a communication with customer.

However, one company through another always have a different case. One strategy in one company cannot implemented as exactly the same with another company.

He stress the explanation about market . Market of every company’s segment is important and starting from there is the life of a company. As long people aware about ur company, and u give the best service and commit with quality, there will be a repeat sales.

He had asked about what was the different between sales and marketing ? In fact in reality that lots of company make it as the same position. So what is the different ?

Marketing is the brain, the one who make a strategy, to forecast the next step about how product need to launch, how product need to knowing by customer.

Sales is the one who deliver the strategy into the market and shaping the perception of customer about the product itself.

Sales in Indonesia has a bad connotation. Because lots of sales in Indonesia gives over promises and under delivered. That is the reality. But somehow, when we try to make a hot sale. Once it will boom, the profit will rise significantly, but it will soon down deeply and the name will never be remember by customer that it ever exist.

So, attitude how to deliver the introduction about product itself is important. It’s like the first impression between customer and the company.
